Some Pictures

Hi everyone...I haven't been posting lately, but I thought that I would show everyone some new things in our house. We are in the beginning stages of a kitchen remodel...we only have the new appliances now, but are doing the countertops and refacing the cabinets. Also, we have started on the baby's room. Pretty exciting. Megan is feeling better, but has a definate baby belly now. It's moving around quite a bit...which is fun for me and usually for her, except when he kicks one of her organs. Hope everything is going well for everyone...We'll talk to you later

Family chat

Hi you all :>) Just a little quick chat with you before I get ready for bed.

The weekend in Duluth/Two Harbors was so much fun...fun to camp again and fun to be part of the marathon scene. I'm waiting for Matt to post some pictures for those of you who weren't there. Highlight was - of course - watching Matt do so well in the race (as well as Justin and Mikayl - however that name is spelled...)But it was also fun crowding into the camper for breakfast (eggs in a bag) while it poured rain outside - and fun to have Sarah and Kojoe there for extra visiting (and help - especially in the rain!)- and fun to be with some family for Father's Day, and hearing from the rest of you by phone. On our way home from Duluth we bought a new toaster oven, so that was your dad's big Father's Day gift from me. (Hey, he really likes them for making frozen pizzas...)

Now I'm really looking forward to some more camping...being in the camper again felt so cozy. (Of course, we have our trip to DC coming up --- that should be pretty cozy with six of us together...after that we may all feel the need for some personal SPACE!!)

It was so fun to be together --- so Abby, can I invite anyone who can come to your house for Labor Day weekend for the Life Light festival? I'm hoping to get there for at least part of it --- any other takers??

Good news from Abby - she said Thomas had a GREAT time at camp...so I'm hoping for more details when we have time to talk longer.

Today it was back to work - both your dad and I felt we could have slept a lot longer this morning! But today he got the tent and camper all dried and aired out so they're put away, and I've unpacked everything and have the laundry sorted, so soon we'll be back to "normal" (whatever that is). Then, of course, I leave for the Cities on Wednesday for meetings, and we're looking forward to staying with Peter and Megan on Friday night after Sam's wedding...then back here sometime on Saturday.

So ---time keeps marching on! As I said, I'm looking forward to some pics on the blog...and when your dad has some enery built up, I'll have him load pics from our camera into the computer and will send on anything that's worth seeing.

All of you, have a great week! Love you, Mom

Notes from Mom

How long since I've posted!? But even if I don't write, I enjoy reading..and looking. In fact, I'm feeling a little outdated since you all put such great pictures on the blog, and I only write. I can see I need to learn to use the digital camera and then just DO IT!

Abby, your columbine are stunning...and what are the blue flowers? I've hardly paid attention to my garden, and your pictures make me really want to get out and plant and work in it again. Are your clematis blooming? Both of ours are, and they're very nice, and I planted a couple of sun bowls (to put in the shade though) and they look very nice too. I'm thinking we'll get some rain again soon and that would be good - we've had so much wind that some things are pretty bedraggled - especially my peonies. I missed them entirely since we were so busy with Bible School while they bloomed, and now they're ragged from the wind.

And I loved the pics of Anna baking---and you using your grill, Matt ---and vacation pictures from Montana (especially Anna in that red outfit by the stream). But here's a question: what's on the plate that Justin is holding, with all the boys around him? It looks like a snake, but I'm thinking that wouldn't be lunch!

Anyway, thanks to you that post because I love seeing and reading it all...Matt, can we keep signing in as we have or will that change now that you're no longer a Bethel student?

You all know what we've been doing...Matt's graduation which was great, DBVS which was awesome, and our time at Shetek Park which was just so serene and really a nice break after the hustle of Bible School. Now we're looking forward to Duluth and really glad that Sarah and Kojoe can join us there (and of course, you too Matt - the reason we're headed there)

Both your dad and Thomas are at camps in SD for the week, so I'm hoping for good weather for them, and especially curious about what Thomas will think of camp since it's his first year. Pray for him...camps have the potential to be such great times for kids. And pray that he'll find friends there since he didn't really know other kids going.

Sarah finished her assessment at Courage Center, and they'll meet with her in a week or two to go over everything...she's been pretty tired from it all. I guess the assessments are very thorough.

I know Megan saw the doc today for another checkup --- I'm trusting little junior is doing fine :>)

Now I must go and start some supper for myself - Just know I'm thinking of all of you. Have a great day! Love you, Mom

Special for Matt

Matt- Thought that you are probably pretty upset that you are missing the progress of my garden... so I'll put up some pictures especially for you to help ease your withdrawl symptoms. Abby
