HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY MOM!

We had a great time celebrating mom's (30th??) birthday! Lots of pizza really cheap. What could be better than that (surely not Kimbrae- who would choose shrimp and steak over cheap pizza?) Thanks, mom, for celebrating with us!

Hello out there...

Yes, there is still life in Slayton, but somehow this lazy mom (or tired mom) hasn't gotten around to writing on the blog. Maybe I'm not too motivated because you all put great pictures on it...that might have to be one of my next goals to figure out how to do that. My "writing" seems kind of bland without a picture to go with it! But be sure that I always read the blog...and totally enjoy it!

Thomas and Anna - It was so fun to see your first day of school pictures...but what a dark morning to start school! I remember that morning - it was rainy and dark here too and I just wanted to roll over and go back to sleep - or get up and make cookies and then curl up and read. But you look like you were both awake and "up and at 'em"...and I'm so glad school is going well for you. But your mom did tell me you both have a LOT of homework...

I'm thinking Peter should be posting in the blog (Megan has a good excuse being on bedrest...) - but how about a few pics of your kitchen? (and maybe a few of Megan ??)...This will be good practice because we'll be expecting lots of blog postings and pics when little Peanut arrives! And I'm expecting some pics of the Boundary Waters later this week when Matt is back and gets reorganized...

After working every day this week, it was absolutely wonderful to spend all of today at home. I cleaned the house and got out some fall decorations...even though the leaves haven't really started changing, I'm in the mood (and I may not get around to cleaning again for a while since we'll be in Sioux Falls for Labor Day weekend ...so that motivated me to get the fall stuff out now.) Your dad's been cleaning out the garage in preparation for the hospice sale, which is in mid-September. He didn't quite get to cutting the grass today, but says he'll be sure to do it tomorrow afternoon. In the evening we have a picnic at church, so I'll have to decide on some food to make for that. So you can see we have a very exciting life to write about in this blog...

But - It was great to see Sarah and Megan and Peter last weekend, and we're definited looking forward to seeing all who will be in Sioux Falls next weekend...Hope you all have a great week ahead! ... and Megan, keep on resting :>)

Love you all and miss you!

first day of school

The kids had a great day of school on Monday. Anna could barely contain herself- she was so excited. She did take time out to pose for pictures, as you can see. Thomas had fun, too. He won't really admit it, though. His good friend Eric is in his class. That was a very good thing. See everyone in 2 weeks. If you have any special requests for food now is the time to let me know. Where is everyone?

You do realize that it is getting to the end of August and I'm the only one who has posted. That is pathetic! Do we have nothing at all happening in our lives? What a sad family.

HI

Hi! It has been a long time. We are so glad that little "peanut" is doing good and that Megan is home from the hospital. And we are so glad that Matt wasn't on the actual bridge when it collapsed (though it was way too close!) And that no one else in our family was on it either. That is why everyone should move out of the "big" city to live in SD with me!
There is so much to be thankful for. That made me sound like mom, didn't it?
Our vacation was wonderful. Thank you mom, dad, and Matt. We had so much fun. Matt- you should post more pictures. I didn't take any of the actual vacation. I just put my pictures on the computer- they are from the fourth of July. I'll put them on. We also went back to school shopping today and Anna got a new dress for the first day. I'll put a picture of that up too. She loves to shop. Everyone else was pretty crabby by the end. I've got to go. I hear screaming and accusations of Thomas being a monster coming from upstairs (they are suppose to be in bed). Talk later. Abby
