Anna's party

Anna had an awesome kitty birthday party! 11 6 yr old girls for 2 1/4 hrs is a lot of work, though. Just ask mom- I don't think I could have done it without her. The drama is amazing. Luckily no more parties for 11 more months. I'll talk to everyone later. Abby
PS After Tom got his present from Matt, Anna said "I hope I get a sock for my birthday!" It was the first present she opened. She was so excited. In the end, though, I didn't compete with the peeing (and pooping!) baby.

abby- forgive me for any of my past comments concerning your less-than-perfect parenthood... the 2.25 hours of what you just went through proves otherwise.

tom- what is the deal... were you a kitten too. also, thanks for ending the phone message.

mom- i hope you can recover.

dad and justin- i hope that you didn't have to stay for the party.

The report from Mom: It was an absolutely fun fun fun party. The weather was perfect, the lawn was lovely (thanks to a lot of hard work by Abby), the girls were cute and lively, Thomas was helpful, the kitty outfits were adorable (thanks, Sarah, for the use of your sewing machine), the kitty cupcakes were a hit...all in all, it couldn't have gone better. But I agree with Abby - don't try this without a lot of adult help! I was so glad Cindy was there too - it gave me a new appreciation for teachers that deal with little kids all day long! After the kiddie party, we had the family party and that was also very relaxing...Matt, we tried the grilled pineapple, and Justin makes them even spicier than yours!
Then on Saturday morning Abby and I got in some shopping time, and a nice "ladies lunch" with Abby and me and Anna (Chinese food at HyVee)...We had such a good time in Sioux Falls...couldn't have been better (which is just the way I felt about our good time in the Cities the weekend before!)

Tim and Sandi arrived a few hours after we got back here --- I really hustled to pick up the house, make a rhubarb pie (which was delicious) and some other food, and then look relaxed...but we had a very good visit with them. Tim and your dad analyzed our upstairs bathroom to think how it can be redone (and believe it or not, your dad is beginning to lean toward knocking out a wall...).
After church and after Tim and Sandi left on Sunday, your dad and I just lounged around all day...I think we needed that! And now we're back in the swing again...
Hope all of you are having a great week...Love you, Mom
